Fall Events Filling Up Fast (Plus Recent News and Publishing Gigs)
A number of interesting events for publishing professionals and book lovers are taking place in the Chicago area in the coming weeks. So, if you can tear yourself away from the computer for a little while, check out these events:

November 6 2008 Book and Media Show 6–9 p.m. Chicago Mart Plaza Hotel 350 West Mart Center Dr., Chicago Chicago Book Clinic will hold its 57th annual Book & Media Show which honors excellence in the planning, supervision, and execution of the physical and visual aspects of publishing media. November 10-11 Association Publishing 2008: Purpose, Process, and Politics Marriott Renaissance Chicago Hotel 1 West Wacker Drive, Chicago The Society of National Association Publishers (SNAP) is holding an annual conference in Chicago. From their website: "The Conference will help you negotiate the wild and wonderful world of association publishing -- the process and the politics that go into it and the purpose behind it. It seems like there's not a lot going on out there job-wise, unfortunately.
